Job summary

Lowe's in Boynton Beach, FL is seeking a dedicated Retail Cashier to provide SMART customer service, actively greet customers, help them locate, demonstrate, and select merchandise, and process sales with accuracy.

In this role you will operate registers and store equipment, handle returns and refunds, assist with loading, support loss prevention, and keep aisles clean and safe while delivering product and warranty information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience required.
• Experience using basic computer applications is expected.
• Experience in retail cashier roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listsens to and responds knowledgeably to customer questions by taking them to areas of the store and guiding through projects when necessary.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, features, and warranty information.
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities.
• Operates cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds per guidelines.
• Ensures proper monetary change to front-end associates for register activities.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise for customers.
• Assists in line vesting to turn around checkout time and opens additional registers when needed.
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and confirms functionality of registers and scanners.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints tickets, verifies receipts, and signs loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and price matches against competitors.
• Records store-use items and maintains store documentation.
• Performs cash counting and daily reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and recycling levels within limits.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists customers or associates triggering alarms.
• Detects shoplifting signs and reports to management/Assets Protection.
• Maintains housekeeping standards and safety programs.
• Maintains safe working environment and conducts daily safety reviews.
• Follows safety requirements for top stock, equipment, and other procedures.
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, cash recycler, copiers, CCTV).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
