Job summary

Lowe's Companies, Inc. is seeking a cashier to deliver outstanding customer service and assist shoppers with locating merchandise while operating the register and handling payments. You will apply Lowe's policies, load heavy items, and ensure accurate stock information throughout your shift.

The role requires basic computer and store technology use, a willingness to learn, and a focus on safety and collaboration with teammates inside a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
• Responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through store areas and projects
• Communicates information on stock, special orders, feature benefits, and warranties related to Lowe's programs
• Coaches and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities (CSA Front End Team)
• Processes sales transactions, returns, and refunds using the cash register
• Ensures proper monetary change and savings handling for register activities
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages and records items used in store lists
• Enters and verifies customer orders, prints tickets, and loads goods
• Looks up product details and price matches to competitors
• Records items used in store use lists and performs daily reconciliation
• Monitors cash levels and registers for security and efficiency
• Assists customers and associates with store entrances/exits and alarm events
• Detects shoplifting or security risks and reports to management
• Maintains cleanliness and organization per housekeeping standards
• Follows safety requirements and uses equipment safely
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra, scanners, copiers, CCTV)
• Performs additional duties as assigned
