You will help maintain store conditions and support daily operations to ensure a smooth shopping experience. The role requires basic education, prior cashier experience, and the ability to handle sales-related licenses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 year experience using a computer.
• Less than 1 year experience using common retail technology.
• 1 year retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through areas of the store and projects.
• Communicates information regarding stock, special order merchandise, features, and warranty information.
• Coaches, develops, and trains associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds.
• Provides proper monetary change to cashiers for register activities.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise.
• Assists in line vesting to speed checkout and covers registers when needed.
• Prepares register area at shift start and end.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders and loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and price match against competitors.
• Records store-use items and performs daily reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer to ensure limits.
• Monitors store entrances/exits and assists with alarms.
• Detects shoplifting and security risks and informs management.
• Maintains housekeeping and safety standards.
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment including daily safety reviews.
• Operates store equipment as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
