GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This position is responsible for driving loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process focus. The Lead Cashier supports the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chats, requiring a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering results by engaging guests on our Loyalty Life Cycle and contributing to goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

• Meet or exceed store goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Provide exceptional service by greeting, engaging, and personalizing service for each guest, recommending products/services.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
• Support guest service by pairing guests with associates for makeup, skincare, and demos.
• Book appointments and support in-store events to enhance guest experience and meet sales goals.
• Maintain and organize cashwrap displays, supplies, and fixtures.
• Maintain prompt attendance.

People

• Support an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
• Assist with cashier chat ins/outs and associate inspections.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and create excitement around credit and loyalty goals.
• Train new cashiers and cross-train associates.
• Engage and influence peers to achieve performance targets.
• Drive cashier accountability and participate in ongoing training.
• Collaborate to grow the business.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
• Adhere to dress code.
• Complete all transactions accurately and control cash/media.
• Perform register opening/closing as directed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards.
• Protect assets and minimize loss.
• Execute other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience

• 2 years relevant experience or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
• Passion for guest service and selling.
• Experience with customer concerns and exceeding sales goals.

• Proficient with POS systems and basic technology.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
