GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This position is responsible for driving loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process focus. The Lead Cashier supports the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chats, requiring a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering exceptional results by engaging guests on our Loyalty Life Cycle.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

• Contribute to store goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Ensure exceptional guest service by greeting, engaging, personalizing service, and recommending products/services.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
• Support booking appointments and executing in-store events to enhance guest experience and meet sales targets.
• Maintain replenishment and organization of cashwrap displays and supplies.
• Maintain prompt attendance.

People

• Support an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
• Assist in cashier chat ins/outs and associate inspections.
• Stay informed about industry trends and products to better serve guests.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and create excitement around credit and loyalty goals.
• Train new cashiers and cross-train associates.
• Engage and influence peers to achieve performance goals.
• Drive cashier accountability and participate in ongoing training.
• Collaborate with store team to grow the business.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
• Adhere to dress code.
• Complete all transactions accurately and securely.
• Perform register opening and closing functions as directed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards.
• Protect company assets and minimize loss.
• Execute other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience

• 2+ years relevant experience or equivalent education and experience preferred.
• Ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
• Passion for guest service and sales.
• Experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires.

Skills

• Proficient with POS systems and Apple devices.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be 18+ years old.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility throughout the store during shift.
• Frequent physical activity including bending, lifting up to 25 lbs, and reaching.
