Job summary

This role develops junior carpenters, expanding capabilities from residential to commercial and multi-family projects, and includes self-performed emergency services, framing, cabinetry, trim work and related carpentry tasks. Travel and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Supervision of unskilled labor, basic BELFOR employees and occasional subcontractors.
• Answer simple questions about the project and when to defer to qualified personnel.
• Maintaining equipment used in daily tasks.
• Perform emergency services as needed (board ups, securing building against further damage).

Responsibilities

• Recognize potential problems with the project and timely request guidance.
• Answer questions and direct complex queries to the appropriate resource.
• Move and protect contents without damage.
• Construct containment for dust, dirt and airborne contaminants.
• Perform floodcutting, salvaging and labeling baseboards, cabinets and doors.
• Attend safety training and complete required BELFOR courses.
• Develop knowledge of insulation types and R-values to apply in daily tasks.
