Job summary

Family Resource Home Care in The Dalles, OR, is seeking Lead Caregivers to support our clients with compassionate in-home care. You will handle critical shifts, cover for other caregivers, and assist with training new staff, ensuring continuity of care across branches.

The role requires the ability to transport clients, maintain client privacy, and adapt to varying schedules. We offer hands-on training, ongoing support, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to pass state and national background check.
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and clean driving record.
• Active NAC/CNA or HCA license.
• One year of experience in home care, AFH, hospital or nursing home setting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Smartphone with AxisCare app.
• WA: Current valid CEs if HCA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meals and daily living activities.
• Provide companionship and engage in hobbies.
• Transport clients for errands or appointments in your car.
• Assist with transfers using gait belt or Hoyer.
• Monitor and report on client condition.

Lead Caregiver Summary

Our Lead Caregivers are experienced individuals who help with our most critical shifts. This includes but is not limited to fill-ins, new clients and training shifts with new caregivers. The primary responsibilities include the Caregiver Job Duties listed below. Our Lead Caregivers must be available to work on short notice during their assigned availability times with clients in any of their assigned branches of service areas.

REQUIRED: must be able to transport clients in reliable vehicle, have WA Driver's license and active auto insurance.

Current Needs:

• Tuesday-Saturday open availability from 8am or 9am to 5pm or 6pm
• Sunday-Thursday open availability from 8am or 9am to 5pm or 6pm
• Friday-Monday or Tuesday from 8am or 9am to 5pm or 6pm

Caregiver Job Duties

• Cooking and/or serving meals
• Helping clients bathe, dress, and groom
• Providing companionship through daily activities and hobbies
• Transporting clients for errands or appointments in your car
• Assisting with gait belt or Hoyer transfers
• Monitoring and reporting on their condition
• Household chores (cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc.)

Additional Information

• Washington only – If you do not have a current HCA or CNA license, you will be required to enroll in our HCA training program we offer (due to state requirements). You will be able to complete the training while working and will have 120 days to complete it.
