Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking a Lead Caregiver in New Jersey to serve as shift leader, ensuring consistent resident care while coaching the caregiving team. You’ll lead assignments, monitor attendance, and coordinate coverage to maintain high standards.

This role blends frontline caregiving with people leadership, requiring CPR/First Aid, CHHA or CNA certification, and strong communication, delegation, and decision‑making skills. Experience in assisted living or memory care is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; age 18+
• CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications
• CHHA or CNA certification
• Strong communication, delegation, and decision‑making skills
• Experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior care

Responsibilities

• Lead shift assignments, manage attendance, and coordinate coverage
• Provide hands‑on ADL support when needed
• Coach caregivers on quality, hospitality, and documentation standards
• Review charting and ensure alignment with Individualized Service Plans (ISP)
• Monitor resident changes and communicate concerns promptly
• Support onboarding and mentor new team members
• Promote safety, compliance, and smooth shift transitions
