The Town of Holly Springs seeks a Lead CARE Counselor to guide CARE Counselors, supervise school-age participants, and support daily program operations in Before/After School and Track Out CARE programs.

You will lead age-appropriate activities, maintain safety, and coordinate transportation as needed, collaborating with CARE Coordinator or Recreation Program Specialist.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 20 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to drive a 15-passenger van or other program vehicle.
  • Previous experience working with school-age children; at least one year preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dependable, responsible, flexible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to actively participate in games, sports, outdoor activities, and other recreational programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • First Aid/CPR certified within 3 months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Report participant, staff, behavioral, and safety concerns to the CARE Coordinator or Recreation Program Specialist.
  • Follow all CARE and Town policies, procedures, and safety expectations.
  • Attend required meetings and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Lead CARE Counselor helps provide a safe, engaging, and positive environment for school-age children participating in Before/After School and Track Out CARE programs.
