Job summary

The Town of Holly Springs is seeking a Lead CARE Counselor to provide a safe, engaging environment for school-age children in Before/After School and Track Out CARE programs. You will supervise, lead counselors, and help ensure activities, supervision, and safety are consistently met.

Must be 20+ years old with a high school diploma, have a valid NC driver’s license, and be willing to drive a 15-passenger van.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability and willingness to drive a 15-passenger van or other program vehicle.
• Previous experience working with school-age children; at least one year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to CARE Counselors during daily program operations.
• Actively supervise and engage with children during activities, games, outdoor play, field trips, and transitions.
• Lead and assist with age-appropriate recreational, educational, and enrichment activities.
• Maintain accurate attendance, head counts, and participant accountability.
• Promote positive behavior and support the social and emotional development of participants.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized program environment.
• Communicate professionally with participants, families, staff, and school personnel.
• Drive program vehicles and assist with participant transportation as assigned.
• Report participant, staff, behavioral, and safety concerns to the CARE Coordinator or Recreation Program Specialist.
• Follow all CARE and Town policies, procedures, and safety expectations.
• Attend required meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
