Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. in Saint Paul, MN, seeks a Capital Equipment/ Complex Systems Project Engineer to coordinate cross-functional projects for complex capital equipment from order to delivery.

You’ll work with engineering, planning, and manufacturing to ensure the configuration, timing, and quality align with customer contracts. The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with related experience, strong communication, and experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 5 years related experience; or a Master’s degree with 2 years related experience.
• Experience coordinating projects from sales order to delivery across multiple functions (hardware/software, materials, manufacturing, quality).
• Strong communication and leadership abilities; ability to influence multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with SAP; SolidWorks CAD drawing desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with managing the timeline for Engineered-to-Order (ETO) builds within Operations for key customers.
• Coordinate phased material releases with planners using a just-in-time approach.
• Review customer specifications and tool configuration with product marketing; flag gaps at kickoff.
• Send out weekly equipment schedule updates to sales, finance, management, and customers.
• Organize in-house/virtual customer source inspection and close out action items before shipment.
• Complete ship readiness review documentation and facilitate wrap-up meetings.
• Coordinate shipping of capital equipment with Logistics and Shipping teams.
