Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, is seeking a highly skilled Cytogenetics/genomics laboratory professional to lead benchwork, data analysis and reporting of genetic assays. The role requires independence, attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

The position offers day shift, 1.0 FTE with occasional weekend coverage, opportunities to contribute to quality management, methods development and SOP improvements within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science; CLIA high complexity supervisor qualifications.
5 years' Cytogenetics/genomics lab experience OR certified training with 4+ years' work including two years in high complexity testing.
CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM certification or international equivalent with CE documentation.
Working knowledge of CAP guidelines.
Advanced knowledge of Cancer Genomics of hematological disorders and related diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities

Perform benchwork, analysis and reporting of genetic/genomic assays with high accuracy.
Pre-director tech checking of straightforward and complex cases and reports.
Contribute to QA/QM, methods development and SOP improvements.
Assist with validation efforts or improved processes in the area.
Oversee select processes and train staff to ensure consistent performance.
