Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a cancer genomic laboratory professional to perform benchwork, analysis, and reporting of genetic assays in a full-time day shift role in Seattle. You will work under supervision with senior techs and contribute to accurate clinical reports in line with CAP/CG guidelines.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a lab science, relevant certification (CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM), and strong attention to detail, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology; must meet CLIA high complexity requirements.
• Required: Typically, at least one year experience in a Cytogenetics/genomics lab OR completion of a formal certified training program in Cytogenetics/genomics.
• Required: Certification as CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM or international equivalent with ongoing CE documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform benchwork, analysis, and reporting of genetic or genomic assays with moderate accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain lab areas and equipment including QC and validation documentation.
• Contribute to safety and quality focus.
• Perform pre-director review of straightforward reports within competency.
