Job summary

Mountainside Treatment Center in Falls Village, CT is seeking a Lead Café Server to take a key leadership role in front-of-house operations, deliver exceptional guest service, and support daily café activity.

You will greet and seat guests, train and guide team members, manage cash and POS transactions, and help ensure cleanliness and safety while maintaining consistent service standards under the supervision of café management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of restaurant, café, or food service experience required.
• Previous experience leading, training, or mentoring team members preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• Experience handling cash and POS systems required.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-of-house operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth, efficient service.
• Greet and seat guests, present menus, and provide exceptional table service.
• Coordinate workflow and provide day-to-day guidance and support to Café Servers and newer team members.
• Assist with onboarding and training staff on service standards, sanitation, safety procedures, and café operations.
• Monitor the dining room to maintain high standards of guest service, cleanliness, and organization.
• Address guest questions, concerns, and service recovery needs in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist Extended Care clients working in the café by providing coaching, encouragement, and guidance when appropriate.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including end-of-shift balancing and closeout procedures.
• Support opening and closing responsibilities and help ensure café and designated areas are properly secured.
• Partner with café management to identify operational improvements and maintain consistent service standards.
• Complete assigned Relias training in a timely manner.
• Comply with all federal, state, and accreditation requirements.
