Your Team

As a Lead, Business Systems Analyst in Group Insurance, you will partner with product owners, tech leads, designers, engineers and delivery professionals to improve Data Exchange and Connectivity capabilities. You will act as the primary interface between Technology and specific business areas, identifying business unit requirements, creating project and process specifications, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services and experiences to delight our customers! In addition to deep analytic expertise and experience and technology background, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

  • Lead in setting ambitious and clear product vision and communicate 'the story' effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team; Looks for opportunities to provide input to the team & coach others with occasional guidance
  • Works on solving extremely complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables
  • Collaborate with product owners in understanding needs and defining feature stories, tech leads in defining technical design and other team members to understand the system end-to-end and deliver robust solutions that bring about business impact
  • Support the Director Business Systems Analyst and Product Owner in setting ambitious and clear product vision, and communicating 'the story' effectively to key stakeholders and the rest of the team
  • Work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables and may impact future concepts, products or technologies
  • Works on extremely complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of often complex variables related to technology and/or data. Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Own the end-to-end product strategy from inception and determine business value once solution enters production
  • Ensure alignment of product features and stories, i.e., review, give feedback, and prioritize user stories in line with product vision
  • Contributes to development of the vision and owns key aspects of the product management/roadmap activities

The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering; Analytics or experience in related fields
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills
  • Deep experience and/or expertise with several of the following:
    • Project/Product Management: Planning, Progress Monitoring and Status Reporting, including visualization of works; Scaling Agile Organizing, synchronizing multiple teams setup Estimations, ROI, project life cycle
    • Effective Communication: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Ability to facilitate dialogue at the right level of detail for all members of the Agile team.
    • Decision-Making & Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
    • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
    • Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Ability to work seamlessly with business partners and software developers alike in a liaison role.
    • Financial Acumen: Knowledge of understanding of financial concepts, tools and processes and how financial metrics are used to monitor and drive outcomes. Includes understanding of company accounts/metrics (ex: balance sheet, profit/loss, cash flow, budget & forecast).
    • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Preferred qualifications:
    • Experience with client engagement is a plus

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
