Job summary

JLL is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer in Huntsville, AL, to supervise maintenance staff and lead the day-to-day upkeep of base building and critical systems. You will oversee preventative maintenance, ensure compliance with safety and codes, and train onsite personnel to enhance technical capabilities.

Required experience includes 5+ years in facility/plant engineering and leadership, with HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems proficiency.

Qualifications

5+ years in facility/plant engineering maintenance with leadership experience.
2+ years of trade schooling in electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC.
Experience with HVAC, fluid handling, mechanical/electrical systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic internet applications.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct maintenance staff on shift, monitoring performance and directing service requests with minimal disruption.
Implement and supervise the preventative maintenance program, schedule maintenance, delegate tasks, and manage parts inventory.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair on HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
Assess malfunctioning equipment and determine corrective actions to restore operation and maintain inventory levels.
Provide training and supervision to operations staff, showing proper use of tools and troubleshooting procedures.
