Job summary

JLL in Fort Mill/Charlotte area is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to manage daily operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. You will lead a small engineering team, assist with preventative maintenance, and support on-call responses while ensuring safety standards.

Schedule: 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday, with on-site requirements at the Fort Mill/Charlotte location. Strong technical and leadership skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 feet.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment with minimal supervision.
• Supervise and support the Engineering team to implement preventative maintenance.
• Maintain and update the work order system daily and complete service requests.
• Provide training and supervision to expand the team's capabilities.
• Handle on-call or emergency responses as needed.
• Troubleshoot building systems and ensure safety procedures are followed.
