Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL) in Nashville, TN seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems in a commercial facility. You will lead by example and support the Chief Engineer, ensuring safe, reliable performance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and BAS.

The role requires hands-on engineering expertise, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to coordinate with the on-site team to minimize disruption and maintain occupant comfort.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with technical training or related degree.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in commercial building engineering or related technical operations.
• Universal EPA/CFC certification required.
• Valid Tennessee Driver’s License and ability to respond to emergency calls within 45 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems and equipment.
• Utilize CMMS to manage and complete work orders aligned with SLAs and site KPIs.
• Monitor BAS, respond to alarms, and diagnose issues to maintain building performance.
• Lead engineering team members, share knowledge, assign work, and promote safe practices.
• Document findings, initiate corrective actions, and maintain records (refrigerant logs, safety docs).
