Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in Costa Mesa, CA, seeks a Lead Building Engineer to lead and oversee reliable facility operations in a commercial real estate setting. You will supervise technical staff, manage maintenance programs, and ensure safety compliance and high performance of critical building systems.

The role requires extensive experience with building systems, BAS and CMMS, plus supervisory skills.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• 7+ years of experience with commercial building systems and maintenance.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in facility operations.
• Certification as a Universal Technician for CFCs.
• Experience with CMMS and BAS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and life-safety systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, drawings and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering staff and coordinate daily maintenance activities, repairs and preventive programs.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, generators and emergency backup systems.
• Inspect equipment and ensure maintenance is performed to company standards.
• Monitor BAS, respond to alarms and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency repairs and manage vendor/contractor support.
• Oversee site processes including work permits and safety compliance.
• Maintain inventory levels for tools and supplies and track purchases.
