Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle in Coral Gables, FL is seeking a Lead Operating Engineer to oversee operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems with minimal supervision on-site.

You will lead a team, manage preventative maintenance, coordinate with tenants, and respond to on-call situations, requiring 3-5 years of related experience, trades education, EPA certification or pursuit, and strong safety and customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
• Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within first year (with JLL assistance)
• Leadership/supervisory experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive
• Strong customer service skills
• Valid Driver license

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned tasks including painting, pressure washing, lighting maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance
• Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program
• Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete tenant service requests
• Assist in providing training and supervision to expand Engineering team capabilities
• Support on-call or emergency response situations
• Troubleshoot all building systems including electrical, DDC and pneumatic controls
• Comply with all safety procedures
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
• Other projects and tasks as assigned
