Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to guide reliable facility operations within a commercial real estate environment. You will oversee engineering staff, ensure preventive maintenance, and safeguard safety and efficiency across building systems.

This role requires 7+ years of building systems experience, 2+ years supervisory, CMMS/BAS proficiency, and a Universal Technician for CFCs. Schedule is Monday–Friday; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• 7+ years of experience with commercial building systems and maintenance.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Certification as Universal Technician for CFCs.
• Experience with CMMS and BAS platforms.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and life safety systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering staff and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, generators).
• Conduct equipment inspections and ensure maintenance per standards.
• Manage BAS alarms and corrective actions to maintain operations.
• Coordinate emergency repairs and vendor support.
• Oversee site permits and safety compliance.
• Maintain inventory and purchase orders for tools and supplies.
