Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team across assigned properties in Reston, VA. You will manage maintenance programs, ensure compliance with safety and building standards, and coordinate with tenants and vendors to deliver reliable, efficient operations.

The role requires extensive hands-on experience, budgeting skills, and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, energy management, and training. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 7+ years of related work experience in a commercial property setting.
• Vocational/Technical training certificate.
• Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required.
• Familiar with EMS/programming and fire alarm systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineers and maintenance staff.
• Manage budgets and operating accounts for buildings.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors and tenants.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with codes and company directives.
• Respond to emergencies quickly and communicate with stakeholders.
