Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Building Automation Applications Engineer in Charlotte, NC to develop and support HVAC control solutions for commercial facilities. You will translate project requirements into BAS/DDC strategies and collaborate with project managers, programmers, technicians, and customers throughout the lifecycle.

You will review plans, select controllers and sensors, engineer control sequences, and support startup, commissioning, and system integrations using BACnet/Modbus.

Qualifications

• Experience with Building Automation, HVAC controls, DDC or BMS applications engineering.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, sequences of operation, and control strategies.
• Experience selecting and applying BAS controllers, sensors, actuators, and related control hardware.
• Familiar with BACnet, Modbus, and networked building control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop BAS/DDC applications and control strategies for commercial HVAC systems.
• Review mechanical plans, specifications, sequences of operation, and project requirements.
• Select controllers, sensors, actuators, and other control system components.
• Develop control sequences, points lists, network architecture, and system layouts.
• Engineer applications for AHUs, VAVs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, heat pumps, and central plant equipment.
• Create submittals, bills of material, control diagrams, and technical project documentation.
• Support BAS programming, graphics, startup, and commissioning teams throughout project execution.
• Assist with system integrations using BACnet, Modbus, and other open protocols.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot application or system issues as needed.
• Coordinate with customers, consulting engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure solutions meet project requirements.
