Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an engineer to design, configure, and operate complete building control systems, including fire, security, and low‑voltage subsystems. You will develop software, commissioning plans, and submittals for customers and field teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating drawings, schedules, and BOMs, assisting in installation, validation, and owner/operator training, with travel required to job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 3 years’ experience in construction/HVAC or related field.
• Experience with building automation systems, control theory, and low‑voltage subsystems.
• Experience implementing or programming building control software and protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet).
• Proficient with drafting/CAD tools and able to produce clear submittals.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and operate building control systems (fire, security, low voltage subsystems) per project requirements.
• Develop software programs and perform commissioning to ensure proper operation of the control system.
• Provide submittals and field information to customers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules, and BOMs for submittals and installation.
• Support site teams, track materials, and assist in validation of system functionality.
• Assist in training owner/operators and provide as-built documentation.
