Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a Leadman journeyman to guide craft workers, assist the Foreman, and perform boiler and pressure vessel assembly to spec.

You will read blueprints, set reference points, perform flame cutting and welding, align sections, and install manholes, gauges, and water connections.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with prior experience in the field.
• Knowledge of blueprints, geometry, and shop mathematics applies to job functions.
• Ability to read plans and select proper tools for fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates on foundation using surveying tools.
• Attach rigging or signal crane operator to lift components to position.
• Align structures to assemble boiler frames and tanks using plumb bobs and levels.
• Cut, grind, and prepare edges to fit parts together; weld or bolt structures.
• Install manholes, valves, gauges, and water connections in boilers.
• Support testing by observing pressure and checking for leaks in vessels.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning; observe safety and project rules.
