Job summary

RRD Company in Timonium, MD is seeking an experienced Bindery Specialist for 1st shift. You will set up, operate, and adjust a range of binding and finishing machines to convert printed sheets into final books, catalogs, and manuals.

Ensure safety, quality, and efficient production while directing a crew on the shop floor. The role requires reading detailed work orders, coordinating multiple machines, and maintaining high standards of finish.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret written work orders or job specs containing bindery requirements.
• Must be able to calculate distances, clearances, and fits in combining machines.
• Skill in using standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
• General knowledge of complex bindery machines and folding units for various products.
• Knowledge of paper stock types and related finishing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines and attaching equipment to produce books, catalogs, manuals and similar items.
• Inspect equipment for safety and operating issues.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.
• Direct crew through all aspects of production and monitor quality, output and productivity.
