Job summary

Obsolete Site in the United States is seeking an Army benefits specialist to support DoD NAF Health Benefits and Life Insurance Group Plans, liaising with insurers and payroll systems, and administering enrollment and claims.

The role requires supervisory responsibilities, oversight of plan provisions, and coordination with DoW NAF guidance. E-Verify and regulatory compliance may be involved.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating employee benefits plans between third-party administrators, payroll interfaces, human resources offices, and customers.
• Experience interpreting plan documents and recommending changes to benefits policy with higher-level entities
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in management of the assigned program(s); i.e., medical/dental, flexible spending/savings accounts, life insurance, long-term care, retirement programs (defined benefit/defined contribution); to include claims examining, adjudication, automation, and payroll accountability.
• Experience developing and delivering benefits presentations and employee benefits workshops.
• Experience providing demonstrated leadership and a full range of supervisory functions to an assigned staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate benefits plans with third-party administrators, payroll interfaces, HR offices, and customers.
• Interpret plan documents and recommend changes to benefits policy with higher-level entities.
• Manage assigned benefit programs: medical/dental, FSAs, life insurance, LTC, retirement; include claims examining, adjudication, automation, and payroll accountability.
• Develop and deliver benefits presentations and employee benefits workshops.
• Provide leadership and supervise assigned staff.
• Maintain enrollment data and reconcile data across systems.
• Participate in special projects and administer other employee benefits programs.
