Job summary

Amprius Technologies is seeking a Senior Supplier Development Engineer to lead technical engagement with suppliers supporting advanced lithium-ion cell materials, components, and contract manufacturing. This role is responsible for qualifying and developing suppliers, industrializing new processes, and driving launch readiness from NPI through volume production.

The ideal candidate is a self-starting engineer with strong battery manufacturing knowledge, hands-on supplier troubleshooting

Qualifications

Experience taking products from NPI through ramp with external suppliers.
Strong battery manufacturing knowledge and supplier problem solving.
Experience auditing and ensuring ISO/IATF/AS9100 quality standards.
Ability to travel up to 30–40% domestically and internationally.
Excellent communication with internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Lead selection, qualification, and development of suppliers for materials and components.
Drive supplier industrialization from process assessment to production ramp.
Evaluate supplier capability, capacity, and expansion plans to mitigate risk.
Optimize process performance, yield, and quality controls with suppliers.
Oversee quality planning deliverables: APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and control plans.
Support IQC, IPQC, and OQC systems at supplier sites for robust quality.
Lead on-site supplier audits and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
Communicate risks, actions, and progress to internal stakeholders.
