Job summary

ADERO Scottsdale Resort seeks a Lead Bartender / Mixologist to elevate the beverage program across the bars and lounges, crafting signature cocktails and guiding the bar team. You will maintain recipes, support inventory and cost control, and contribute to beverage quality, guest experience, and outlet revenue.

Working with outlet management, you will help develop and execute a distinctive beverage experience while leading by example and ensuring responsible service in a bustling resort setting.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience as Bartender.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification as required by the jurisdiction.
  • Ability to serve alcohol responsibly and verify guest age in accordance with law and policy.
  • Advanced knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and mixology, with lead experience.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Craft signature and classic cocktails to a high standard of quality and presentation.
  • Lead by example and support bartenders on recipes, technique, and hospitality.
  • Help develop and maintain cocktail menus and specifications.
  • Serve guests with warmth and engagement at the bar.
  • Verify guest age and ensure responsible alcohol service.
  • Manage bar stock, par levels, and inventory in coordination with management.
  • Train new bartenders and barbacks on standards.
  • Handle transactions accurately and support cost control.
  • Maintain bar cleanliness and equipment.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and responsible service standards.
  • Lead opening, closing, and inventory duties.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Bartender / Mixologist elevates the beverage program across the bars and lounges at the property, crafting signature cocktails and setting the standard for quality and hospitality. This role serves guests while guiding the bar team, maintaining recipes and presentation, and supporting inventory and cost control. The Lead Bartender / Mixologist contributes directly to beverage quality, guest experience, and outlet revenue. Working closely with outlet management, this position helps develop and execute a distinctive beverage experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience as Bartender.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members. Language requirements are confirmed by property at the time of posting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification as required by the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Ability to serve alcohol responsibly and verify guest age in accordance with applicable law and property policy.
  • Advanced knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and mixology, with lead experience.
  • Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing cocktail menus or leading a bar program.
  • Bilingual ability appropriate to the property's guests.
  • Knowledge of inventory and cost control.
FUNDAMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Craft signature and classic cocktails to a high standard of quality and presentation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Stand and walk for the majority of a shift behind the bar.
  • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds, including kegs, cases, and ice.
  • Frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment during peak service.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor bar areas with exposure to heat and sun consistent with the property's climate.
