Job description

Craft Elevated Guest Moments In A Desert Oasis

At Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, every celebration has a setting worthy of the occasion: sweeping Sonoran Desert views, lush resort grounds, sun-drenched terraces, and the unmistakable energy of Phoenix. Here, banquets are more than events—they’re milestone moments, high-impact meetings, elegant weddings, and unforgettable evenings brought to life by a team that knows how to make guests feel genuinely welcomed.

We’re looking for a polished hospitality professional who can bring confidence, pace, personality, and precision to every pour. If you thrive in a dynamic event environment and take pride in turning great service into a lasting impression, this is an opportunity to serve at one of Phoenix’s most distinctive resort destinations.

What You’ll Create

You’ll deliver thoughtful, timely beverage service for resort banquets and special events, creating an experience that feels effortless for every guest. From a perfectly balanced cocktail to a gracious greeting during a bustling reception, your attention to detail will help set the tone for exceptional occasions.

  • Welcome guests warmly, take and promote beverage orders, and deliver service with genuine hospitality.
  • Prepare, mix, and garnish cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages using established recipes and responsible portion-control standards.
  • Maintain an organized, fully stocked, guest‑ready bar with appropriate beer, wine, spirits, glassware, paper products, garnishes, straws, stirrers, and condiments.
  • Review daily function sheets to understand event details, bar setup requirements, service timelines, and guest expectations.
  • Support servers by preparing beverages efficiently and accurately during service.
  • Break down event bars, return products to the designated bar office, and maintain clean, orderly workspaces, including walk‑ins and storage areas.
  • Respond to special guest requests and assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head Bartender or Banquet Manager.
Why This Is More Than A Shift

Phoenix is a city built around bold experiences—from its vibrant culinary scene and world‑class golf to its spectacular desert sunsets and year‑round event calendar. At Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, you’ll work in an environment where the pace is lively, the standards are elevated, and no two events are exactly alike.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being part of the action: moving with purpose, anticipating needs, collaborating closely with a service team, and bringing a refined touch to celebrations of every size.

What You’ll Bring
  • Two to four years of bartending experience in a hotel, resort, banquet, restaurant, or high‑volume hospitality environment.
  • Arizona Title IV Alcohol Certification and Maricopa County Food Service Worker Certification.
  • A high school diploma is preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of alcoholic beverages, classic and contemporary drink preparation, garnishing, and responsible service practices.
  • Comfort with basic math, cash handling, guest checks, portion sizes, and Point of Sale procedures.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, including taking orders and completing requisitions, balance sheets, and vouchers.
  • Strong manual dexterity and the ability to safely handle glassware, bottles, ice, knives, and bar tools.
  • The ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods and reach overhead to retrieve supplies.
  • A sharp memory for menu offerings, beverage selections, and upselling opportunities.
Service With Standards

Exceptional hospitality begins with integrity. You’ll follow all resort, state, federal, and corporate requirements for the responsible service of alcohol, including refusing service to minors and intoxicated guests. You’ll also maintain a professional, resort‑appropriate appearance and represent Arizona Grand Resort & Spa with poise, warmth, and sound judgment.

Bring your craft, your energy, and your instinct for making guests feel seen. In the heart of Phoenix’s desert landscape, you’ll help turn remarkable gatherings into experiences guests will talk about long after the last toast.

The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa’s leaders and associates believe each guest should be treated with respect and professionalism. We create a genuine experience, enticing our guests to return again and again. In order to be successful at The Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, associates must share both our Purpose (Making Space for Genuine Hospitality) and Pillars (Hands On & Heartfelt, Sincere & Focused, Collaborative & Curious, and Conscientious). This includes possessing and demonstrating a high level of courtesy and respect for both internal and external guests. Our fun, friendly and enthusiastic associates treat every guest as if they were our only guest. A true customer focus is essential to success with our property.
