Job summary

Thuma in Denver’s Cherry Creek is seeking a Lead Barista to be the heart of the cafe, reporting to the Store Manager and delivering warm service and top‑quality coffee.

You will mentor baristas, oversee daily cafe operations, and collaborate with the retail team to ensure smooth service and exceptional customer experiences.

This in‑person role requires weekend availability, leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to Thuma’s values and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Lead Barista
• In-person at Thuma Cafe in Cherry Creek
• Availability to work weekends and holidays
• People person with excellent communication
• Extensive knowledge of coffee brewing, espresso, and latte art
• Denver Food Safety Manager card or willingness to obtain one
• Proven leadership skills to motivate a team
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Be the heart of the cafe and extend the Thuma retail team
• Manage cafe inventory and stock in collaboration with the Store Manager
• Ensure compliance with local health regulations
• Oversee daily cafe operations including opening/closing
• Mentor baristas and provide training
• Maintain exceptional coffee quality and recipe adherence
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment
• Handle customer inquiries and feedback promptly
• Collaborate with management to optimize cafe efficiency
• Uphold Thuma's ethics, sustainability, and customer service standards
• Communicate effectively between cafe and retail teams
• Develop and implement new coffee offerings and seasonal promotions
