Job summary

Ocean House Management in Westerly, RI seeks a Banquet Captain for seasonal/on-call events at our luxury properties. You will lead banquet service staff, ensure BEO compliance, and deliver gracious service during high-end events at our luxury properties.

Reporting to the Banquet Manager, you will coordinate with Culinary, Catering/Events, and Engineering to execute flawless service, maintain safety standards, and train team members. Prior luxury hospitality or banquet supervision is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience leading banquet staff in luxury hospitality.
• Ability to read and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
• Strong guest-service mindset and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned banquet functions from pre-shift to breakdown per BEO and standards.
• Communicate event details, service sequence, and guest requests to the team.
• Assign workstations, coach staff, and ensure timely, high-quality service.
• Inspect function rooms for presentation readiness before guest arrival.
• Coordinate with Culinary, Catering/Events, Engineering and other departments for seamless execution.
• Monitor service, timing, and guest satisfaction; address issues promptly.
• Maintain banquet paperwork and inventory records; ensure compliance with safety policies.
