Job summary

The Biltmore Hotel is seeking a Baker II to lead baking operations, scale and proof all items, and ensure high standards of taste and quality across outlets and banquets. You will maintain sanitary, organized workspaces and communicate with the Chef to align on daily production, yields, and staffing needs.

Ideal candidates bring 1–2 years pastry experience in upper upscale hotels, strong attention to detail, and able to follow recipes and health regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred
• Minimum 1–2 years baking/pastry experience in upper upscale hotels
• Must speak/read/write English
• Compute accurate mathematical calculations
• Provide legible communication and directions
• Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
• Prioritize and organize
• Think clearly, remaining calm and resolving problems using sound judgment

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the team when the head baker is off or on vacation.
• Know how to read and organize the BEO when head baker is not on property.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment operation and safety.
• Follow state sanitation/health regulations and hotel requirements.
• Meet with pastry Chef/head baker to review assignments and business levels.
