Job summary

UNLV Health in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Back Office Clinic Supervisor for General Surgery. This full-time management role oversees back office staff, coordinates workflows, and ensures efficient patient care throughout the day.

You will coach staff, manage rooming/time, and communicate with practitioners to maintain high-quality service. The position offers standard clinic hours, holiday and PTO benefits, and certification reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• National MA certification required (CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Associate degree in medical field/healthcare administration preferred.
• 3–5 years supervisory experience in outpatient ambulatory health clinic or ambulatory surgery center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage back office clinical staff, including medical assistants, surgery schedulers, and authorization/referral specialists.
• Provide coaching, and coordinate workflows, policies, and procedures.
• Perform onboarding evaluations and annual performance reviews to develop staff.
• Manage patient scheduling and daily assignment sheets; monitor chart prep and no-shows.
• Ensure high-quality patient care and effective communication across departments.
• Lead daily GEMBA rounds, staff huddles, and address patient concerns.
• Ensure access to care and track deviations from standard of care.
