Cognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Lead AWS Engineer with experience developing and building high-performing, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. Our engineers have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You will work side by side with product managers, designers, and clients, making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. Responsibilities

1. Develop MVP User Stories (Reusable components, APIs, UI, mock stubs, etc.)
2. Support backlog creation, prioritization, and story mapping
3. Assist in technical design and solutioning
4. Work across tiers – UI development, APIs, databases (basic developer tasks)
5. Utilize DevOps CI/CD pipelines, create and configure build/deploy jobs
6. Apply XP and pair programming, perform TDD
7. Deliver assigned tasks with quality and share knowledge through daily pairing
8. Contribute to software modernization with passion
9. Communicate clearly with team and leadership
10. Participate in paired programming and XP development
11. Work independently when required
12. Break down complex ideas into manageable work
13. Contribute hands-on and mentor others
14. Support troubleshooting efforts

Qualifications

1. Ownership of team delivery
2. Expertise in AWS platform and services: Lambda, API Gateway, EMR, Hudi, Glue, Kafka with Python, CI/CD tools like Terraform, Concourse, Jenkins
3. Primary skills: AWS, Python, API, microservices, Flink, Kafka
4. Secondary skills: EMR, Hudi
5. Additional skills: Spark, MongoDB/DynamoDB/Aurora
6. Certification: AWS Certified - Associate or Architect
7. Ability to guide future architecture and technical direction
8. 7+ years in cloud development (preferably 8-12 years, not all in AWS)
