Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer skilled in designing data pipelines using various Azure components and proficient in Python for data processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with engineers, marketing professionals, and management.

This role involves working directly with clients to understand requirements, participate in design discussions, and drive pipeline development. It is customer-facing and requires hands-on development of data pipelines, as well as coordination with offshore teams.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement ETL processes and data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Python, Snowflake, and other tools.
2. Manage Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage, and other Azure data storage solutions.
3. Serve as the primary point of contact between onsite and remote teams.
4. Coordinate and manage data engineering projects from initiation to completion, aligning with marketing goals.
5. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation.
6. Communicate effectively with team members and management to gather requirements and provide updates.
7. Facilitate meetings and presentations to align project objectives with business needs.
8. Oversee implementation and maintenance of big data solutions, ensuring best practices.
9. Collaborate on designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, lakes, and warehouses.
10. Design solutions based on near real-time architecture.
11. Identify and resolve technical and operational issues during projects.
12. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with standards.
13. Utilize Azure Databricks and other tools for data transformation and processing.
14. Optimize queries and workflows for performance and efficiency.

Must Have Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience with data integration platforms on Azure cloud.
• Deep knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Databricks, and related Azure services.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and scripting languages.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer focusing on Azure technologies.
• Knowledge of GitHub integration with Azure DevOps.
• Experience working with global offshore teams.
• Experience liaising with clients and stakeholders including engineers, marketing, and management.
