We believe in finding the best talent! While some roles are based at one of our office locations, remote roles can sit in any of the following states: AL, AZ, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA and WV. Remote status and role locations are subject to change. Relocation is not provided.

Employees within a 90-minute radius of our Oak Brook, IL headquarters are required to adhere to the company in-office work guidelines of 4 days per month minimum from 10 am to 2 pm (1 of the 4 days must be a Monday or Friday).

Job Summary & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of scalable batch and streaming data pipelines.
  • Design and implement CDC strategies and robust ETL workflows.
  • Work with software engineers to create data products in a data mesh environment.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for internal analytics and reporting.
  • Collaborate with software engineers and business stakeholders to define data contracts and deliver data products in a data mesh environment.
  • Manage and evolve our data infrastructure using Terraform and GCP best practices.
  • Document data flows, Entity-Relationship Diagrams, and contribute to our data catalog.
  • Lead efforts around data modeling, data quality, and data governance.
  • Ensure data platform solutions meet data privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and code reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in SQL, Python, experience with TypeScript or Node.js is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of cloud data warehousing concepts (preferably in Google Cloud).
  • Experience implementing ETL pipelines, and orchestration tools.
  • Experience in data mesh, data lake architecture, and data product ownership.
  • Experience with data governance concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with data privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and mentoring others.
  • Nice to have: experience with MLOps and ML pipeline support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in data engineering roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

$125,000-$150,000 per year

Compensation & Benefits
