Job summary

RTX, located in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking two Senior Principal Systems Engineers to join the Integrated Flight Systems Product Line Engineering group. The role focuses on avionics system design, verification, and integration for large business jets and transport platforms on multiple programs.

You will work in an on-site environment with cross-functional teams, contributing to requirements, architecture, and verification activities while interacting with certification agencies and customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM and 10+ years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with 7+ years).
• Avionics UI development experience and understanding of aircraft CONOPS.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team.
• Demonstrated ownership and delivery of high-quality results.

Responsibilities

• Support development and verification of avionics system requirements and behaviors.
• Contribute to architecture, interface, and system design discussions for flight deck capabilities.
• Create, update, and execute verification artifacts such as test procedures and test cases.
• Investigate defects, analyze system behavior, and support root-cause activities during integration and test.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of systems, software, integration, and test engineers.
