Job summary

SSCI, Inc. is seeking a Lead Autonomy Software Engineer to lead a small engineering team in developing mission autonomy solutions for Group 3-5 unmanned aerial systems.

You will integrate cutting-edge technologies into autonomous decision-making, world modeling, and adaptive planning under uncertainty. The role requires extensive C/C++, Python experience, strong proposal and leadership experience, and the ability to obtain a US DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years developing autonomy technologies with team leadership; or a master’s with 5+ years; or a Ph.D. with 2+ years.
• Experience leading proposals and winning contracts.
• Experience building and integrating software for edge platforms.
• Experience with C/C++, Python and/or other languages (Java, Rust, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop innovative solutions addressing customer requirements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in mission autonomy technologies.
• Support or lead marketing and proposal efforts in mission autonomy.
• Manage and task team to achieve program milestones.
• Interact with prime and customer-facing interactions.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in mission autonomy.
