Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Autonomous Simulation Software Engineer to build the software and simulation infrastructure behind next‑generation uncrewed underwater vehicles and maritime autonomous systems.

You will develop software that models vehicles, sensors, environments, interfaces, faults, and behaviors to enable engineers to exercise mission software repeatedly before water tests. This hands‑on role emphasizes scalable MAGMA‑based simulation frameworks and reusable components across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8–12 years of experience or Master’s with 6–10 years.
• Secret clearance is required.
• Strong C++ on Linux with good software fundamentals.
• Experience simulating complex physical or cyber-physical systems.
• Ability to model interactions between software, sensors, hardware and environment.

Responsibilities

• Build high-fidelity simulation software for autonomous vehicles and missions.
• Expand and evolve MAGMA-based simulation framework for reuse across programs.
• Increase fidelity by collaborating with autonomy, systems, hardware and test engineers.
• Model vehicle characteristics, sensor behavior and environmental effects.
• Create simulation environments for repeated tests before hardware deployment.
• Architect scalable, modular simulation infrastructure with deterministic behavior.
