Job summary

Leidos’ Undersea Systems Division in San Diego, CA seeks a Software Engineer to join a fast-paced R&D team working on uncrewed underwater vehicles, sensors, and ISR solutions for Naval NIWC PAC. You will develop software for UUV operations, sensor integration, and data processing.

Responsibilities include refining UI and control for sensors, building secure CI/CD pipelines, implementing automated tests, and reporting test results.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with an active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Process-oriented with strong attention to detail
• Strong leadership and experience managing small teams
• Experience with C/C++, Python, and Java
• Familiarity with versioning control and CI/CD workflows
• Ability to work independently and in teams to develop solutions and test performance
• Experience with uncrewed underwater vehicle (UUV) operations and sensor integration
• Experience with at-sea test and evaluation and data analysis

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deliver uncrewed underwater vehicle software based on system requirements
• Develop and optimize UI and control for onboard sensors
• Implement secure CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and vulnerability scanning
• Produce engineering and training documentation for deliveries
• Conduct testing onboard small boats/ships and analyze post-demo data
• Travel occasionally for testing, training, and operations as needed
