Job summary

Pep Boys in Sandy, UT seeks an experienced Automotive Technician who can diagnose drivability and electrical systems and lead a team to enhance customer care. You will educate customers on problems and proposed repairs for their vehicles while mentoring peers.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, repairs, shop organization, and upholding safety standards. The role requires strong communication, a customer-focused attitude, and availability for varied shifts. ASE certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4 or more ASE certifications are PREFERRED (A4, A5 plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications using automotive knowledge across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and employees.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians; lead by example in shop.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques in formal training.
• Keep management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized, safe, compliant shop environment.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures and safety rules.
