Job summary

Pep Boys Inc seeks an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a small team, and improve customer care. The role involves explaining repairs to customers, mentoring peers, and staying current with automotive technology.

Candidates should have 3+ years of diagnostic experience, ASE certifications, and the ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced shop environment with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 3+ years of automotive diagnosis and repair experience.
• Four or more ASE certifications are preferred (A4, A5 plus two others).
• Section 609 certification is required.
• State Inspection license may be required in some locations.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension and A/C systems.
• Explain diagnoses and repairs clearly to customers and staff.
• Mentor and lead a team to deliver quality customer care.
• Continuously learn updated automotive techniques and safety rules.
• Maintain an organized, safe, compliant shop environment.
• Adhere to company policies and safety standards.
