Job summary

Pep Boys Inc. is seeking a skilled Technician in Orlando to diagnose drivability and electrical systems while leading a team and educating customers on repairs. The role focuses on delivering superior service and customer care.

You will diagnose and repair brakes, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems, mentor technicians, and maintain a tidy shop while adhering to safety rules and company policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers or employees as required.
• Lead a shop team to set the pace and tone, and develop the team around you.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
