Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to design, program, and Commission controls for EPC projects across industries from front-end to startup. You will develop PLC/HMI software, instrument lists, control narratives, and FATs, while leading a team and coordinating with multiple disciplines.

Travel to sites about 30% is required. The role demands strong standards knowledge (ANSI/IEEE/ISA/IEC), experience with PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens), and the ability to review

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Controls, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of FE exam and minimum 3 years electrical engineering experience.
Master's degree in electrical engineering and minimum 2 years electrical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Develop automation and controls deliverables including PLC and HMI programming design deliverables and commissioning.
Lead discipline design for large projects and guide junior engineers.
