Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to drive design activities across front-end through start-up on major EPC projects. Responsibilities include PLC/HMI programming, FATs, and on-site commissioning for food, pharma, and industrial facilities. Travel approximately 30% to survey and support installations and startups.

Strong leadership and collaboration skills required. The role requires a BS in engineering, FE exam, and 3+ years of electrical/controls experience; PE

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree and FE exam or equivalent credentials.
• 3+ years electrical engineering experience with EPC/automation emphasis.
• Experience leading discipline design on large projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation and controls deliverables for EPC projects in multiple industries.
• Design instrument lists, I/O lists, control narratives and panels.
• Lead FATs and on-site commissioning activities with field teams.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors and internal groups to meet budgets and schedules.
