Job summary

MSR Technology Group seeks an Automation & Controls Engineer for food & beverage facilities across multiple locations. You will drive automation and controls design, including PLC and HMI programming, FATs, and startup support for EPC projects.

Expect collaboration with MEP and process teams, development of instrument lists, I/O lists, and vendor coordination. The role requires a bachelor’s in a controls-related field (ABET-accredited), FE exam, 3+ years of electrical engineering experience, and

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Controls, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET-accredited program; FE exam passed; 3+ years electrical engineering experience (EPC/Automation preferred).
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design standards (ANSI/IEEE).
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to lead design for large projects and mentor others.
Willingness to travel (up to 30%); PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver control design deliverables including PLC and HMI programming.
Lead FATs and coordinate with offsite teams; interface with multi-disciplinary project teams.
Develop electrical design deliverables (480VAC and below) and device location plans.
Coordinate with vendors for control panel design; track progress and submittals.
Support site commissioning and start-up activities; ensure quality reviews of submittals.
