Job summary
Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Automation & Controls Engineer to design, develop, and deploy automation systems for critical infrastructure and EPC projects. You will work on PLC/RTU/HMI/SCADA configurations across Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, and Ignition platforms, and lead commissioning activities from concept through closeout.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from ABET-accredited program.
- 3+ years of automation, control systems, SCADA, industrial networking, or related engineering experience.
- Knowledge of automation platforms and control architectures.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for EPC projects across multiple markets.
- Prepare system architecture diagrams, control narratives, wiring diagrams, and commissioning docs.
- Configure and program PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson, and Ignition.
- Lead FAT, SAT, and startup activities; manage commissioning documentation.
- Coordinate interfaces with instrumentation, electrical power, cybersecurity, and third-party equipment.
