Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced instrumentation and controls engineer to design basic to moderately complex systems using 3D/4D design practices. The role includes PLC/HMI work, testing oversight, and collaboration on proposals in a hybrid work environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of related experience, travel up to 40% may be required, and experience with water/wastewater projects is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create instrumentation and control system designs (P&IDs, control architectures, specs, control descriptions).
• Review component drawings and contractor clarifications; assist with testing oversight.
• Lead staff and mentor junior engineers; review junior staff work as needed.
• Assist in preparation of proposal sections and presentations; support Automation strategy and business development.
