Job summary

Crash Champions in New Jersey seeks a skilled Body Technician to inspect damaged vehicles, plan repairs, and work with a team to complete quality repairs on time. You will determine whether to repair or replace components, remove interior parts for access, and uphold safety standards while guiding junior staff.

The role requires frame machine experience, current body repair certification preferred, and knowledge of manufacturer repair processes. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Must know how to operate a frame machine.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Familiarity with vehicle repair processes by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certification is required or preferred.
• Ability to analyze and interpret measuring data accurately.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel on the shop floor.
• Must pass a thorough background check.

Responsibilities

• Examines damaged vehicle and plans repair process efficiently.
• Communicates with team on vehicle repair status.
• Performs quality repairs while maintaining on-time status.
• Decides on repair vs. replace based on safety, cost, cycle time.
• Removes upholstery and parts to access vehicle areas.
• Participates in mandatory safety meetings.
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces using tools.
• Directs an apprentice and explains procedures when needed.
